    This is a rare 1896 advertising brochure promoting the GOUNOD CONCERT COMPANY and the GOUNOD QUARTET based in New York City. The quartet was comprised of W. H. RAYMOND (Tenor), R. A. CARTER (Second Tenor), B. A. BOUGHAN (Baritone) and E. LEON RAINS (Bass) with HELEN R. DINMORE (Reader) and Violinist BERTHA L. CLARK ..... Their statement of introduction reads, "To Managers and Committees: Our entertainments are especially adapted to the requirements of Social Clubs, Church and Choral Societies, Y.M.C.Associations, and any others desiring the services of a superior Concert Company. We purpose maintaining during the coming season the high standard of excellence we have established in the past in the character of the music and recitations rendered, and the general artistic effect of our performances throughout. Our repertoire will be entirely new, embracing many novel and entertaining features.
