    Description

    This is a very interesting souvenir acquired from a traveler having the opportunity to experience the Beijing Opera of China.  It is designed as a three panel wooden display depicting pictures of 9 different Chinese Opera masks.  The inlaid metallic designs bear the Chinese characters for each mask as well as the characters reading "Beijing Opera of China".  The center panel measures 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" and each side piece measures 2-1/4" x 3-1/2"  The pieces are joined by two pair of shiny well-placed hinges. The back of the piece states "Theatrical Facial Makeup Type Art in Beijing Opera of China" with an explanation in Chinese characters.
    The piece is cradled in a red silk lined box.
