    Description

    This is a specially designed Christmas greeting card sent by Mr. and Mrs. WILLIAM GAXTON during the 1936 holiday season. The card shows WILLIAM GAXTON as a waiter taking an order from Santa Claus and Mrs. Gaxton in front of the White Horse Inn. Gaxton was currently starring in the Original Broadway production of the HANS MULLER, IRVING CAESAR and RALPH BENATZKY musical "WHITE HORSE INN" at the Center Theatre in New York City. (The production opened October 1st, 1936 and ran for 223 performances.) ..... The backside is blank, but has a penciled number and a considerable amount of glue residue (the card may have been mounted against a backing at one time) ..... CONDITION: With the exception of glue residue on the backside and a tiny spot in the far right margin, this rare Christmas card is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
