  • Condition: All of these vintage Japanese theater booklets - brochures are in pretty good condition for the age. The inside pages are in good shape with good color and detail. The Takarazuka Revue booklet has the name "Kingsley" written in blue ink on the front and back covers. The back cover has a tiny stain spot at the top-center margin edge area. Pages 8-9 have some small lite stain spots at the top-center margin edge area. The Shinbashi Enbujo brochure has toning consistent with age, lite waviness, lite handling creases and a corner crease on the lower-right corner with a little paper loss. The Japanese ballet brochure has toning consistent with age, lite waviness, lite handling creases, a lite corner crease on the lower-right corner and moderate toning on the back cover.     JAPANESE TAKARAZUKA REVUE, JAPAN TRAVEL BUREAU SHINBASHI ENBUJO THEATER AND JAPANESE BALLET PROGRAM BOOKLET - BROCHURES
    This LOT OF 3 vintage Japanese theater program booklet - brochures consists of a Takarazuka Revue Star Troupe's Performance booklet (April 1973, 10 1/8" x 7 1/8", 11 pages), a Shinbashi Enbujo Theater brochure (October, no year printed - circa late 1930's, 10" x 7 3/8", 2 pages) and a Japanese Ballet brochure (circa 1950's-60's, written in Japanese, 10 5/8" x 4 1/2", 2 pages).
    The Takarazuka Revue booklet includes a double page color centerfold photograph of the troupe on a stage set and photos of the Japanese actresses Otori Ran, Ohara Masumi, Ozora Midori and Anna Jun. The Shinbashi Enbujo (phonetically spelled Shimbashi Embujo) brochure includes a brief description of the following plays: Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura (Kabuki play); O-Tsuya Goroshi (written by Junichiro Tanizaki in 1915); Kisen (Kabuki dance), Honcho Nijushiko (Kabuki play); Musuko (written by Kaoru Osanai in 1922); Chikubu-jima (written by Genjiro Yoshida circa 1920's); Izayoi Seishin (Kabuki play). The Japanese ballet brochure is written in Japanese with a colorful front cover depicting a ballerina dancer in front of a house with a rooster weathervane on the roof with a village in the background.
