Unusual Antique Banded Agate Brooch Cross Shape with 5 Discs

I think that this unusual banded agate pin is likely one of a kind. There's a cross shape in the center with the arms of the cross bent over like the tops of canes. In the center of the arms and on all 4 sides are discs of agate held in place with a metal pin through the center. The ends of the pins are at the ends of a cross shaped copper finding on the back. There's a tube hinge and a "c" clasp. The agate has white stripes on black and shades of brown. The brooch measures just under 1 1/2 inches square and rises about 3/4 inches above the cross shaped metal back. One of the brown colored cross pieces has a wedge shaped gouge, and there's a smaller chip on the disc on its left because of the stripes and the high gloss, they do detract very much from the beauty of the pin.
