This is a rare May 20th, 1920 program (playbill) from the Post-Broadway engagement of the HERMAN TIMBERG musical revue "TICK-TACK-TOE" at the Shubert-Detroit Opera House in Detroit, Michigan. (The production opened February 23rd, 1920 at New York's Princess Theatre and ran for only 32 performances before going on the road.) ..... The musical revue starred SOPHIE TUCKER and the cast included EDDIE FOLEY, DOLLY CLARK, GLORIA MASON, DOT MAYNARD, VERA BALDWIN, ETHEL CARLETON, JOSEPHINE RICE, NAN HOPE, ELLA USEL, C. LELAND MARSH, JULES BUFFANO, JAMES A. GUILFOYLE, EDDIE FRANKEL, PEGGY COUDRAY, GLADYS GAYE, GEORGE MAYO, WILLIAM BENCE, CHARLES SENFT, MARGARET HANEY, MARJORY DRURY, VERA CAMERON, MAY SWIFT and SOPHIE TUCKER'S KINGS OF SYNCOPATION ..... BROADWAY CREDITS: Book, Music and Lyrics by HERMAN TIMBERG; Scenery designed by WATSON BARRATT; Costumes designed by HOMER CONANT; Staged by EDWIN T. EMERY; Produced by ARTHUR KLEIN ..... DETAILS: The 44 page program measures 5 1/4" X 7 3/4" inches and includes production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, musical numbers and wonderful vintage advertising, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) The program was trimmed at an angle at the top, there are several handwritten notes in pencil on inside pages, the seam is split at the base, there are several small edge tears and light creasing. Despite these flaws, this rare program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
