Description
Well, well, what have we here?Up for bid is this elegant pair of Komainu figurines, representing the famous guardian lion-dogs of the Katori Shrine. These are replicas of the old ceramic (Koseto) Komainu dating back as early as the Kamakura period, and designated in 1953 as Important Cultural Property. The bases are stamped. Each piece stands about 3" tall. The pair comes to you in excellent pre-owned condition, with perhaps a bit of light shelf wear commensurate with display,
but no worrisome damage, like chips or fractures.
What an amazing find!
The cold, hard truth, aka shipping & handling terms:
As projected by eBay's shipping calculator, domestic shipping costs on Priority packages reflect USPS counter price--with First Class parcels being a close estimate of actual price within the fluctuating per-ounce rate--plus {{detail_product_description}}.73 in my handling fees. This handling fee not only contributes toward the obvious selling expenses of bubble wrap, boxes, printer ink, and tape, but more significantly towards the steep selling fees imposed by Ebay on your total invoice (sale price + tax + shipping). Even the sale of a dollar mug will incur me over in fees--the higher the cost and weight of the item, so too the fees. Because my sales are primarily based on lower-ticket items, I would not be able to afford to stay in business without this buffer. Thank you for supporting small business!
Mix it, match it, throw it in your basket!
I am happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases, so if you'd like, please take a look at my other auctions. A handling fee per item still applies (see explanation above).
Meow, woof, woof!
This item is passing through a smoke-free, cat-friendly, and dog-happy home. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
