    This is a rare July 2nd, 1956 programme (playbill) from the Provincial Tour engagement of the SAMUEL BECKETT classic "WAITING FOR GODOT" at the Golders Green Hippodrome in North London. (The production opened August 3rd, 1955 at London's Arts Theatre and moved to London's Criterion Theatre on September 12th, 1955 before going on the road.) ..... The first English language production of the play starred PETER WOODTHORPE, ROBERT EDDISON, RICHARD DARE,
    PETER BULL and DEREK HODGSON ..... CREDITS: Book by SAMUEL BECKETT; Sets designed by JEAN LOVE; Directed by RICHARD SCOTT; Produced by MICHAEL WIDE and RICHARD SCOTT LIMITED ..... DETAILS: The twelve page playbill measures 4 7/8" X 7 1/4" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, one production photo and wonderful vintage advertising, but no cast bios ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) The staple has rusted resulting in staining at the inside seam and there is light soiling to some inside pages. Despite these flaws, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
