This is the second installment of the "Traditional Lacquer Art Rei" series of lacquered fountain pens that use lacquer from all over Japan.
The Ryumonnuri was born from the suminagashi technique of paper making and the fukinagashi technique of watercolor painting, and is unique in the world of lacquering.
In Aomori Prefecture, which is a cold region, lacquer often dries poorly and the color of lacquer does not come out well, so in Tsugaru, where efforts were made to improve lacquering by overpainting, a technique called "Kenidashi Kaichiruri" was born.
Rhyumon-nuri is characterized by its unique layering of lacquer, which gives it a sensuous look.
The Rhyumon coating on this product is reminiscent of the marble pattern, and combined with the domestic lacquer finish, it is a superb item unique to lacquer.

The paulownia box, which is said to be the most suitable material for storing lacquer products, is made of high-quality domestic paulownia with fine grain. The string is made of Sanada string which is hard to stretch and strong.
The one-piece bag is made by cutting the fabric of the pure silk kimono, and handmade one by one down to the nails. It feels good and is suitable for storing fountain pens.
Creative lacquer artist, SHIMAMORI Hirokazu
He was born in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. He graduated from the Department of Craft Design and Engraving at the university and received an Excellence Award at the graduation work exhibition. He graduated from Tsugaru Nuri Technological Institute (Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture).
