This is a rare single-page program (playbill) from one of the earliest performances of the Original Off-Broadway production of RICK BESOYAN's musical comedy "BABES IN THE WOOD" which played the Orpheum Theatre in New York City. (The production opened December 28th, 1964 and closed after only 45 performances.) ..... The ensemble cast included RUTH BUZZI, DANNY CARROLL, JOLEEN FODOR, CAROL GLADE, RICHARD CHARLES HOH, KENNETH McMILLAN, EDWARD MILLER, DON STEWART and ELMARIE WENDEL ..... CREDITS: Book, Music and Lyrics by RICK BESOYAN ("Little Mary Sunshine", "The Student Gypsy"); Sets designed by PAUL MORRISON; Costumes designed by HOWARD BARKER; Choreographed by RALPH BEAUMONT; Directed by RICK BESOYAN; Produced by SANDY FARBER and AARON SCHROEDER ..... DETAILS: The single-page program is a mimeographed 8 1/2" X 14" inch one-sided page and includes full production credits, cast list, scenes and list of musical numbers, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There is fraying and discoloration at both the top and bottom and tears on each side of a fold across the middle. Despite these flaws, this rare program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
