This is a rare February 1966 playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the JAMES GOLDMAN play "THE LION IN WINTER" at the Colonial Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The production would open March 3rd, 1966 at the Ambassador Theatre in New York City and run for 92 performances.) ..... The play starred ROBERT PRESTON and ROSEMARY HARRIS (winner of the 1966 Tony Award for "Best Actress in a Play") and featured DENNIS COONEY, JAMES RADO (one of the creators of the landmark 1968 musical "Hair"), CHRISTOPHER WALKEN, BRUCE SCOTT and ANNE FIELDING (replaced out-of-town by SUZANNE GROSSMANN) ..... CREDITS: Book by JAMES GOLDMAN ("Follies", "A Family Affair"); Sets and Costumes designed by WILL STEVEN ARMSTRONG; Directed by NOEL WILLMAN; Produced by EUGENE V. WOLSK, WALTER A.
