    This is a rare ticket envelope and loose ticket stub from the April 20th, 1966 matinee performance of the Original Broadway production of the JAMES GOLDMAN play "THE LION IN WINTER" at the Ambassador Theatre in New York City. (The production opened March 3rd, 1966 and ran for 92 performances.) ..... The play starred ROBERT PRESTON and ROSEMARY HARRIS (winner of the 1966 Tony Award for "Best Actress in a Play") and featured DENNIS COONEY, JAMES RADO (one of the creators of the landmark 1968 musical "Hair"), CHRISTOPHER WALKEN, BRUCE SCOTT and SUZANNE GROSSMANN ..... CREDITS: Book by JAMES GOLDMAN ("Follies", "A Family Affair"); Sets and Costumes designed by WILL STEVEN ARMSTRONG; Directed by NOEL WILLMAN; Produced by EUGENE V. WOLSK, WALTER A. DETAILS: This rare Ambassador Theatre ticket envelope measures 4 1/4" X 2 1/2" inches and has advertising for American Airlines on both the front and backsides. The April 20th, 1966 ticket stub measures approx. 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" inches ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a number written on the backside of the ticket stub, this rare set is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
