Here are the 10 quick steps to pair mismatched buds and charging case together, and then to your phone.
1. Put both buds in the case and connect to a power outlet so they can charge for 10 mins.
2. Unlock your phone, verify Bluetooth and Location Services are turned on.
2. Go to Settings -> Bluetooth, unpair, forget and delete previously paired Pixel Buds Pro or similarly named device.
3. Remove case from power outlet.
4. With both buds in the charging case, Open the lid.
5. With the lid open, you'll notice the light on the front of the case pulsing either white OR orange repeatedly. Now press and hold the tiny white colored Setup button on the back of the charging case for about 30 seconds. Keep holding the button down until the light stops blinking and completely turns off.
6. Now let go, of the button, the light on the front will start pulsing white AND orange alternatively, it will do this for about 10 seconds before pulsing only white. Now the mismatched buds and case are all connected together as one set.
7. On your phone, if you see a pop-up menu to connect to pixel buds dismiss it by clicking outside of the menu. Reconnect inside the Bluetooth menu in Settings app. On certain phones the pop-up menu connection will cause connection issues after replacing one of the buds. If you don't see the buds turn off bluetooth on your phone and turn it back on to make sure phone is in pairing mode and discoverable.
8. If you do not see the Bluetooth connection in the Bluetooth menu and are only getting the pop-up menu restart your phone.
9. If the headphones are not paired together repeat the steps above.
10. Finally, in the pixel buds app update to the latest firmware.
