Presented is a set of 2 late Victorian brooches.
These are made of brass or bronze with a warm oxidized finish.
Each is an amphora form decorated with an applied fly at the bottom!
The patterned necks of the amphorae are each set with a rose cut paste--one green, one purple.
Both have verdigris detailing, the darker one substantially more.
The backs have their original brooch findings including sturdy stem and wide C-catch.
These look like they could have been unearthed during an archaeological dig.
They are just wonderful and I’ve never seen something like them before.
