    This is a rare advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the four-night, National Tour engagement of the WILLIAM INGE play "BUS STOP" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut beginning May 2nd, 1956. (The production opened March 2nd, 1955 at the Music Box Theatre in New York City and ran for 478 performances while simultaneously playing on the road.) ..... The Pulitzer Prize winning play starred PEGGY ANN GARNER as "Cherie" (the role played by MARILYN MONROE in the motion picture released the same year) and featured DICK YORK, GLENN ANDERS, RUSSELL HARDIE, SALLY HESTER, WINIFRED AINSLEE, WALLACE ROONEY and JOSEPH SULLIVAN ..... This single page, one-sided handbill measures 5 7/8" X 14" inches and includes a photo of the star, production and cast credits, promotional text and a ticket order form on the on the front. The backside is blank ..... CONDITION: With the exception of three horizontal folds, this rare handbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian.
