This is a rare oversized press folder promoting the 1948 Republic Pictures' film adaptation of William Shakespeare's "MACBETH" starring ORSON WELLES in the title role. (The film was released in the U.S. on October 1st, 1948.) ..... In addition to ORSON WELLES, the motion picture starred JEANETTE NOLAN as "Lady Macbeth", DAN O'HERLIHY as "Macduff", RODDY McDOWALL as "Malcolm", EDGAR BARRIER as "Banquo" and ALAN NAPIER as "A Holy Father" and featured ERSKINE SANFORD, JOHN DIERKES, KEENE CURTIS, PEGGY WEBBER, LIONEL BRAHAM, ARCHIE HEUGLY, CHRISTOPHER WELLES (Orson Welles' daughter in her only film role), MORGAN FARLEY, LURENE TUTTLE, BRAINERD DUFFIELD, WILLIAM ALLAND, GEORGE CHIRELLO and GUS SCHILLING ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) The press folder has a number of edge tears, the most severe being at the right side of a heavy center fold and at the top of the back cover. A circled letter "E" is handwritten in the lower right corner of the cover and there are corner creases and two tiny punctures from removed staples. Despite these flaws, this rare folder will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or classic film historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
