    Description

I will accept a return, but on my conditions. If I describe an item inaccurately or miss obvious damage, I will most certainly accept a return, but I must know immediately about any problems. I welcome any & all questions, so ask. This will help to alleviate any doubts you might have. I will allow 2 days after receipt of the item to hear from you. But check my feedback to feel secure about making a purchase from me. I try to provide good pictures & be picky about descriptions.
I have more nice items for sale this week so check them out if you have time.  I am always happy to combine shipping with multiple purchases.
This is a lovely Victorian pin featuring 3 faceted amethyst colored glass stones set in multiprong settings.  I love the look of all those little prongs!  It has been cleaned since some of these pictures were taken, so I have added some.
It's about 1 -3/4" across & about 15/16" at highest.  There are a couple nips at the facets, & it has the overall scuffing from wear that's to be expected with a pin that's about 140 years old.  There is some play in the pin mechanism, but if you know Victorian jewelry, you know this is not uncommon.  Fabric behind it lets physics take over.
What I recently have found, while reading a book about the royal English jewelry, is that amethysts were acceptable after the first 3 months of mourning.  The next period is considered 'half mourning', & amethysts & diamonds are acceptable.
Just a gorgeous pin, for mourning or not .
