Includes a vintage official road map of the Land of Enchantment (from the New Mexico State Highway Department, circa 1975); an official map & guide for White Sands National Monument (since designated a National Park), a 145,000-acre gypsum dune field (the largest on earth), in the Chihuahuan Desert outside of Alamagorda, in southeastern New Mexico (from the US Department of the Interior/National Park Service, 2018. In English & Spanish); a foldout 12-panel brochure that features a series of illustrated maps for Santa Fe & North Central New Mexico (from circa 1990); a map & guide for Taos, a community in northern New Mexico, high in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, that is equal parts hippie art colony, Indian pueblo and ski resort. It is one of the most unique places on earth, an eclectic mix of people and cultures in a remote corner of the country (from Out & About, 1992); an official brochure for Acoma Pueblo (“Sky City”), the oldest continuously inhabited city in the United States (over 2,000 years). It is a National Historic Landmark (from circa 1990); a neat, foldout photo map & business guide for Santa Fe (from Blair Press, 1992); a map & brochure for Albuquerque’s Old Town, the historic heart of New Mexico’s largest city (from 1989); and a brochure for Albuquerque’s Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, the consortium of New Mexico’s 19 Indian Pueblos, dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of Pueblo Indian Culture (America’s First Culture) (from circa 1985).
