Thisis a rare February 25th, 1946 "Playgoer" playbill from the Post-Broadway engagement of the LEONARD BERNSTEIN, BETTY COMDEN and ADOLPH GREEN musical comedy "ON THE TOWN" at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (The show opened December 28th, 1944 at
the Adelphi Theatre in New York City
and ran for 462 performances before going on the road.) ..... This production launched the careers of several individuals who would be instrumental in shaping the future of the Broadway musical: LEONARD BERNSTEIN, BETTY COMDEN, ADOLPH GREEN and JEROME ROBBINS. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
