LARGE COIN SILVER TABSP "R" MONOGRAM, SCOVIL, WILLEY & CO. CINCINNATI OH 1815-37

Description

Coin silver tablespoon with broad fiddle handle end hand engraved in script "R".  The spoon weighs 1.52 troy ounces and measures 8 7/8 inches long and 1 3/4 inches across the bowl.  Marked on the back of the handle "Scovil, Willey & Co." who worked in Cincinnati, Ohio 1815-1837.  There's a 1/8 inch ding, some rippling in the bowl and a bit of tip wear, tiny nicks and fine scratches overall, and numerous small scratches on the back edges of the bowl, otherwise in good antique condition.
