Description:
Presented for your consideration is this neat large ribbon cabinet. Dating to the 1880s, the ribbon cabinet would have originally been in a country store to display ribbon. The frame work is solid oak with glass panels in the center of each door. On the front and back are 6 drawers that easily open and close and on the left and right sides are 2 drawers which also easily open and close. The drawers on the sides open to reveal the spool shelves that would have held spools of ribbon. The doors on the back and front open more like a cradle to hold the ribbon. As you can see we have placed some spools of ribbon in the cabinet to demonstrate the look and function of the cabinet. Along the top edge is a carved, pedal-like design and at the bottom edge of the front is the original manufacturer name plaque. The plaque reads "A.N. Russell & Sons Co. Ilion, N.Y. U.S.A." The cabinet is solid and in usable condition. Would look great displayed with any general store memorabilia collection or a nice cabinet to use!
Very light age and use wear. Glass is free of chips and cracks. Wood appears to be free of splits, chips and breaks. Overall in EXCELLENT condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures 28 1/4" wide, 18 1/8" deep and 37 3/4" tall.
