    Description

    This is a rare advertising handbill (flyer) promoting the opening of the Original London production of the
    BILLY BARNES and BOB RODGERS musical revue "THE BILLY BARNES REVUE"
    at the Lyric Opera House, Hammersmith in London beginning April 4th, 1960. (
    The production first opened October 15th, 1958 at the Las Palmas Theatre in Los Angeles and played eight months before opening June 9th, 1959 at New York's Off-Broadway York Playhouse where it ran for 64 performances. The show transferred on August 4th, 1959 to New York's John Golden Theatre and moved to the Lyceum Theatre on September 28th, 1959 for the final three weeks of the 87 performance Broadway run. After making a number of cast changes, the show moved to the Off-Broadway Carnegie Hall Playhouse on October 20th, 1959 for an additional 48 performances. The London production opened
    April 4th, 1960 and ran for a limited engagement of 24 performances

    ..... DETAILS: Advertising handbills (heralds) were distributed or inserted into the playbills of other productions to help generate ticket sales for upcoming shows and events. This single page, two-sided handbill measures 5 1/8" X 7 1/2" inches and includes wonderful graphics and production credits on the front and ticket prices and directions to the Opera House on the backside ..... CONDITION: With the exception of moderate creasing, this rare handbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
