    This is a rare broadside (single page playbill) from the Original Broadway production of the IRVING BERLIN and HARRY B. SMITH musical 'WATCH YOUR STEP"
    at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City
    . (The production opened December 8th, 1914 at the New Amsterdam Thea
    tre and ran for 175 performances.) ..... This was IRVING BERLIN's first complete score for a book musical, having contributed songs to a number of other shows and revues beginning in 1910. The musical starred VERNON CASTLE and the cast included FRANK TINNEY, SAM BURBANK, WILLIAM J. HALLIGAN, JUSTINE JOHNSTONE, HARRY KELLY, SALLIE FISHER, CHARLES KING, ELIZABETH BRICE, Mrs. VERNON CASTLE, HARRIET LEIDY, HARRY ELLIS, IRVING J. DETAILS: The single page, two-sided playbill measures 4 7/8" X 15 1/2" inches, is printed on a newsprint stock and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes and list of musical numbers, but no cast photos or bios. The backside is blank ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) The broadside is brittle and has suffered some paper loss at the bottom and top right corner and there are quite a few tears, most notably on each side of a center fold. Despite these flaws and due to the historic significance, this rare item will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
