This listing is for a nice Haig & Haig's Scots Whiskey advertising earthenware match holder with striker used in an early 20th Century English pub, c. 1906-1912. The match holder has an opening in the top for wooden matches and a textured body that is used as a match striker. The body is marked "Haig & Haig's Celebrated Scots Whiskies" on the smooth top border and on the textured striker body. Marked on the base "S. Fielding & Co. Manufacturers, Stoke on Trent". This mark was used from 1906-1912.
Measures 2" high with a 1 7/8" diameter top and an overall width of 4 1/4". Weighs 1.5 pounds.
This nice match holder/striker is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. There is some very faint discoloration on the striker area of the body and minor loss to the one of the letters on the body which is considered very minor and from normal wear/use.
