This is a rare January 19th, 1943 "Stagebill" playbill from the Post-Broadway engagement of the MOSS HART, KURT WEILL and IRA GERSHWIN musical "LADY IN THE DARK" at the Civic Opera House in Chicago, Illinois. (The Original Broadway production opened January 23rd, 1941 at the Alvin Theatre in New York City and initially ran for 162 performances before taking a summer hiatus and brief tour. The show returned to the Alvin Theatre September 2nd, 1941 for an additional 305 performances before returning to the road. Following this engagement, a Broadway revival would open February 27th, 1943 at the Broadway Theatre in New York City and run for 83 performances.) ..... CONDITION: This program has become discolored with age and the pages are somewhat brittle. There is a seam split and some edge chipping. Despite these flaws, this playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian .....
