This is a rare May 7th, 1923 program (playbill) for the National Tour engagement of the SIGMUND ROMBERG and DOROTHY DONNELLY musical play "BLOSSOM TIME" at the Bronx Opera House in New York City. (The production opened September 29th, 1921 at New York's Ambassador Theatre, moved to Jolson's 59th Street Theatre on October 2nd, 1922 and the Century Theatre on October 23rd, 1922, running for 516 performances while simultaneously playing on the road.) ..... Using the melodies of FRANZ SCHUBERT, the hit musical starred JOSEPH MENDELSOHN as "Franz Schubert" and LAUREL NEMETH as "Mitzi" and included TRINA VARELA, JEAN HOLT, DE VECMON RAMSEY, ISABELLE VERNON, FERNE NEWELL, JOHN CLARKE, DALLAS WELFORD, LUCIUS METZ, EDWARD ORCHARD, HENRY WHITE, GREGORY DNEISTROFF, FRANK E. HORN, GREGORY RATOFF, FRANK NOYES, DAVID ANDRADA, PEGGY O'DONNELL, HARRIETTE SHELDON, JAMES CURRAN and TATIANA SMIRNOVIA ..... EARL CHRISTY and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers, a bio of FRANZ SCHUBERT and wonderful vintage advertising, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light soiling to the cover and minor creasing, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
