This is a rare May 4th, 1881 programme (playbill) from the London engagement of the WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE classic "OTHELLO" at the Lyceum Theatre in London. (The engagement began January 24th, 1881at London's Royal Princess' Theatre
and ran through March 26th, 1881, before making a number of cast changes and transferring to the Lyceum Theatre.) ..... The play starred the legendary Shakespearean actor EDWIN BOOTH as "Othello", HENRY IRVING as "Iago" and Miss ELLEN TERRY
as "Desdemona"

..... DETAILS: The four page program measures 6 3/8" X 8 3/4" inches and includes production credits, cast list and synopsis of scenes, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light soiling to the front cover and minor creasing, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
