This is a rare playbill from the Original Off-Broadway production of the JEAN ANOUILH play "LEGEND OF LOVERS" at the 41st Street Theatre in New York City. (The production opened October 27th, 1959 and ran for only 32 performances.) ..... The play starred EDWARD ASNER, FORD RAINEY, WILLIAM LARSEN, LOUISE LARABEE and DOLPH SWEET and featured RON LEIBMAN (in his professional stage debut), FREYA MINTZER, RUSSELL BAILEY, WILLIAM BRAMLETTE, ELIDA BRITO, FRANCES CONROY, MEL HAYNES, MARCIE HUBERT, STEVEN SHAW and future author and lyricist of the groundbreaking musical "Hair", JEROME RAGNI (bio shown in the last scanned image), in one of his earliest stage appearances .....
