I'm currently listing a large number of playbills from out-of-town tryouts prior to the Broadway runs. Many are from early performances when revisions were common and include song titles that were cut before opening in New York ....... This is a rare February 27th, 1962 playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the JEROME WEIDMAN and HAROLD ROME musical comedy "I CAN GET IT FOR YOU WHOLESALE" at the Colonial Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The show would open March 22nd, 1962 at the Broadway Theatre in New York City and run for 300 performances.) ..... The production marked the Broadway debut of nineteen year-old BARBRA STREISAND as "Miss Marmelstein" and also included Streisand's future husband ELLIOTT GOULD. Other Cast members included LILLIAN ROTH, JACK KRUSCHEN, HAROLD LANG, KEN LE ROY, MARILYN COOPER, BAMBI LINN and SHEREE NORTH ..... DETAILS: The 32 page playbill measures 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers, bios of each of the actors and wonderful vintage advertising, but no cast photos..... CONDITION: This rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
