    Antique Victorian era vulcanite brooch
    It was acquired at an estate sale attached to the paper that reads on one side:
    'This belonged to Grandma Whitman. A Brooch made from volcanized rubber. I think I had read once that when first discovered it was made into jewelry.' The other side reads: '8-18-60 - Given me by Aunt Nellie Myers, today, while Ruth and I were visiting her. Ruth went after sandwiches and ice cream (pineapple dope for A. Nellie). I dug a few potatoes. CM'.
    It measures approx. 1 1/8" in diameter
    Condition: there are a few fleabites on the edges and the pin bar is bent
