for this lovely antique turn of the century brooch depicting historical scenes with Roman soldiers circa 1900.  It appears to be made with 3 detailed painted historical scenes of Roman soldiers inset and framed which appears to be a mixture of silver and white metal or silver tone.  The back of the brooch, outside of the frame and pins do not react to a magnet and tarnish black like sterling. For purposes of this listing we are selling the brooch as mixed metal / materials as we do not know the exact metal content. The middle of the brooch is attracted to a magnet. The scenes are detailed, well done and in excellent vintage condition. The celluloid protective covers which protect these pictures are also in good vintage condition. The brooch has a pin and C clasp closure and a another C clap closure going in the opposite direction.  It measures approximately 3/4  x 2 3/4 . It is singed "The Whitehead Hoag. Co." and marked "PAT. APL'D FOR." It is in excellent vintage condition and is ready to be worn or gift wrapped.    It is even lovelier in person.   See photos for description.   Other items pictures are listed & sold separately.
