Antique Remembrance Painted Girl Stick Pin 6134

Description

Very special stick pin; looks Victorian, but not sure of the date.
The little painted girl has blonde ringlets and a small rosette in her hair.
There's a large blue bow on the front of her collar.
She stands out against a black background and I think it's glass or maybe porcelain.
The outer frame is faceted black glass, often referred to as French Jet.
It's mounted on a dark brass back and has a long twisted section to keep it from easily slipping out of whatever clothing or hat holds it.
3 3/8" long overall.
Pin length is 2 3/4" X 1/16"
Oval medallion is 13/16" X 15/16"
The condition is fairly good - a few chips in the jet glass.
I think the portrait is in great condition.
There's a little thin white edge in spots between the painted oval and the black frame.
Could be a memorial piece to remember a deceased child.
Very beautiful old keepsake.
