Antique Edwardian Huge Ornate Cloak Clasp 2 Pc Buckle Brooch Art Nouveau 7"

Description

A fabulous find!    Antique, lovely French cloak clasp, really huge, at over 7" across.  Metal (not sure of what kind, looks like bronze) is weighty, with a beautiful Art Nouveau design.    This came off of the original Paris Nouveate card and  has never been used.  Clasp closure, and also a few small eye holes in back for sewing this to your garment.   Perfect for a cloak, coat, large millinery hat, sash, etc.  Thank you!

IMPORTANT NOTE:  I have been contacted by several lookers here on Ebay, trying to "correct" me on the dating for this hat.  They are wrong, (sorry but true) as this hat does indeed date to 1961-1962.   While The clothing line Miss Dior was not launched until 1967, the Miss Dior name was originally attached to perfume in the 1950s, and by 1961 it also was the label for a line of ready-to-wear hats designed and sold by the House of Dior.   If you still have doubts, you can find advertisements for Miss Dior hats in major fashion magazines of the day.
